Anthropic Just Made Building Production Agents 10x Easier

The news: Anthropic launched Claude Managed Agents on April 8. It's a cloud service that handles all the infrastructure behind production AI agents: sandboxed containers, state management, tool orchestration, and automatic error recovery. The pricing is $0.08 per runtime hour plus standard model costs, so a 24/7 agent runs for about $58/month before token usage. Early customers include Notion, Rakuten, and Asana.

How it affects automation: Before this, shipping a production agent meant months of scaffolding work (containers, logging, state tracking) before the agent itself was useful. Managed Agents compresses that setup to weeks and removes the ongoing maintenance.
